ACTEM's 2nd Annnual Mini-Conference will feature 3-hour sessions similar to what we have offered on Thursdays at our annual fall conference for several years.  This year will also feature one full day session

Google Apps Certification Workshop

In this full day workshop we will cover the steps of becoming a Google certified trainer. We will cover the tools included in Google Apps for Education and prepare attendees for the process of certification. The day will be fast paced and full of tips, tricks and best practices for educators of all levels.

MORNING SESSIONS:
The Google Classroom

Google provides a tremendous suite of productivity tools for the classroom. In this session we’ll explore how to use Google Tools in the classroom by taking a look at Google Classroom, Drive, Calendar and Sites. We’ll also explore some powerful extensions that can be added to the Google Chrome browser.
Digging Deep into Google Drive
Alice Barr, Yarmouth HS
Google Drive is a powerful tool for the 21st century classroom. Come to this session to learn strategies for sharing documents, media  and folders. Adding Apps to your Drive and using Add-ons will also be covered.
Day in an iPad Empowered Classroom
Cathy Wolinsky, Yarmouth Elementary School
The iPad is a powerful tool for elementary teachers and students. This engaging and informative session will be organized around a day in an elementary classroom. Concrete examples of how 1:1 iPads, stations of iPads and the single iPad classroom can be leveraged to support the many activities that fill the day in a K-5 classroom.  
Creating with iBooks Author

Apple’s new iBooks Author allows users to create highly interactive and engaging content that can be leveraged to help improve lessons, or to help a student tell stories of their accomplishments. We’ll learn how to create with iBooks Author, and how iWork and iLife tools can be utilized to create great content for interactive iBooks.
21st Century Learning and Flipped Instruction

Cisco Meraki Networking and Mobile Device Management

Meraki Systems Manager allows you to configure, monitor and update your mobile clients, from iPods to iPads, Macs to PCs, in real time from the cloud and it's available to any organization – even those not yet running Meraki – 100% free!  This workshop will give an overview of the MDM features including some hands-on time to explore the system.

Teacher web pages and classroom blogs are being used more and more as an extension of the classroom. This session will uncover ways that teachers use Sites and Blogger to share learning objectives and materials with their students and the community.

Re-View your Course through the iTunes U Lens

Curate your learning resources onto a user friendly platform that can be accessed by students and shared with other educators. This hands-on workshop will discuss the elements involved in an iTunes U course and then guide you through Course Manager to create your own unit of learning. Participants will walk away with a product that can be used in their classroom right away.  

Creating Visual Notes with Apple MLTI Tools

MLTI Advanced Searching & Reporting using Casper Suite

Who should attend?  MLTI Tech Leads who have attended MLTI Casper Suite Training and have a Casper Site Admin account for their school or schools plus administrator credentials.

Learn to use the Advanced Search capabilities of JAMF’s Casper Suite 9 to identify devices based on a wide variety of criteria; managed vs. unmanaged, installed apps, iOS version, etc.  Save these searches for re-use, and optionally export the results to either comma, or tab delimited text for further analysis in other applications such as Numbers.
