Keynote Speaker Carl Hooker
Carl Hooker is returning to Maine this fall as a conference keynote - ready to jump into the latest innovations in technology with all of us. He will also be the MC for the very popular ACTEM After Hours activities again this year.
Carl is the “Godfather” of the “Learning Festival” known as LearnFestATX (formerly iPadpalooza) has grown into a global phenomenon over the years. This learning festival has impacted schools and districts from all over the world. The event has even inspired spin-off events in other states as well as in Australia.
Carl Hooker has been a part of a strong educational shift with technology integration since becoming an educator. From his start as a teacher to district technology leadership, he’s always had one common belief – the kids need to drive their own learning. He realizes the challenges in our current public educational institutions and meets them head on. His unique blend of educational background, technical expertise, and humor make him a successful driving force for this change.
Carl brings his 20+ years of educational background, technology integration, and outside-the-box thinking to all of his talks. His unique blend of humor and practical advice is a powerful message for any school, district, or conference!
Keynote Speaker Patricia J. Brown
Patricia J. Brown, also known as "MsEdtechie," is a dedicated and innovative educator with a strong commitment to promoting student growth through effective technology integration. With over 21 years of experience in education, she is passionate about breaking down traditional classroom barriers and creating an inclusive culture that fosters authentic learning and the 4Cs (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity). As the Director of Technology in St. Louis, Missouri, she works tirelessly to bridge the digital equity divide by providing students of all ages with enriching and innovative experiences that address their diverse interests and needs.
Patricia is an active member of the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE) Board of Directors. Her impressive track record includes being recognized as a National School Board Association's 20 to Watch in EdTech, an Apple Distinguished Educator, a Google for Education Champion, Trainer, and Innovator, and a PBS Lead LearningMedia Digital Innovator for Missouri. In 2006, she was honored as Teacher of The Year for the St. Louis Public Schools.
Patricia's expertise and passion have been featured in various EdTech publications such as Tech & Learning Magazine, Scholastic Administrator Magazine, Edtech Magazine, and Entrsekt Magazine. She is a sought-after national keynote speaker and presenter, having been featured as a TED Master Class speaker at the ISTE 2018 conference in Chicago, Illinois.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Patricia is a proud wife to her husband, Brian, and a devoted mom to their five sons.
